SPN drabble: Drive until you lose the road

Title: Drive until you lose the road
Author: [livejournal.com profile] maharetr
Genre: SPN, G, gen, drabble.
Notes: For [livejournal.com profile] 100_ghosts prompt: Fight or Flight. Title from the song "How to save a life" by The Fray. Spoilers for 'Born under a bad sign'. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] vegetariansushi.

Sam is driving, finally. Dean sleeps in the pre-dawn light, head leaning awkwardly against the passenger window, snoring low and slow. The warmth of his breath is clearing an irregular circle in the condensation on the glass.

Sam flexes cold fingers. There's the FBI who sees them as survivalist nutjobs; hunters that see betrayers of their own and the Demon that probably sees all, but for now, all Sam can see is Dean. They've got a full tank of gas and a trunkload of ammo, fresh credit cards and miles of road unfolding under the wheels.

For now, Sam drives.

Good summary of how they're probably getting by with such a line of troubles. Nice.

As long as I close my eyes and pretend they're not still driving the most recognisable car ever, I'm good. [grin] Thanks for the feedback!

Beautifully done.

I like that you give Sam a moment of not looking ahead or worrying what he's going to become, because there's just too much to worry about. So he's just *being*.

So he's just *being*.

Yes, exactly. I cannot begin to imagine the stress they're under at this point. I figure there must be some times when they've gone. "Okay, alive, that's a good start. Now lets focus on breathing for a while..." Thanks so much for the feeback.
