Movie meme, gakked from Taselby

The gist of it is that you pick 15 of your favorite movies, go to IMDB and find quotes from each of them. Post answers as people guess!

When guessing: NO Google, NO searching IMDB yourself, or any of that sneaky internet stuff that we're all so good at. Just you and your memory!

1. X: How old are you?
Y: Old enough to kick your butt through your skull and splatter your brains on the wall.
X: [to the cops on the phone] Yeah, he's a juvenile.

2. Your work is puerile and under-dramatized. You lack any sense of structure, character, or the Aristotelian unities. Addams' Family Values [personal profile] justadecoy
3. You seem somewhat familiar. Have I threatened you before? PotC 1

4. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.Shawshank Redemption

5. If I ever make it on to your shit list, give me a call. Give me a chance to apologize. Sleepers [personal profile] scotsnow
6. I just want you to feel you're doing well. I hate for people to die embarrassed. The Princess Bride

7. If you suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners corrupted from infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded, sire, but that you first make thieves and then punish them? Ever After [personal profile] ginmar
12.
Sure... he's depressed so he jumps four stories out of a window onto his head. "Wow, that feels better." Picks himself up. "Now I think I'll go on with the rest of my day." Collateral [personal profile] scotsnow
15.
I'm not questioning your powers of observation I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is. V for Vendetta [info]cricketk

ETA:
Damnit, my inability to successfully jump between rich text and HTML has come back to bite me in the arse. Suffice to say that numbers 8 through 11, 13 and 14 were guessed correctly.

*tips hat* Yup, you win...something *grins*

Number Seven: Ever After. I'm going to show it to the girls.

[identity profile] maharetr.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 09:08 am (UTC)(link)
I approve of that movie choice :) The 'anything I can carry?' scene makes me grin every time, and the scene at the end when the prince turns up *after* she's successfully rescued herself? For the win.

[identity profile] caitlen.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 08:47 am (UTC)(link)
1. = Empire Records.

7. Ooohh ohhh I KNOW this one!!! *thinks really hard* EVER AFTER! :D

Hmm. Don't think I can get any more.

[identity profile] maharetr.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 09:10 am (UTC)(link)
Win for Empire Records! Alas, you were beaten to it for Ever After by less than a minute.

[identity profile] caitlen.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I should have pressed post instead of watching Robin Hood and getting distracted :(

Nine: The Craft.

[identity profile] ginmar.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Eight: Firestarter? I know it's from the book, I'm just not sure if they kept the same title.

[identity profile] maharetr.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 09:13 am (UTC)(link)
They did indeed keep Firestarter as the title. That and Shawshank Redemption were some of the best adaptations of King's books I've seen. Although the movie ending to The Mist is apparently impressively traumatic, and beat the book's. You were right for The Craft, too.

[identity profile] ginmar.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, good. I desperately want to see The Mist. Monsters? Mist? Oh, yeah. I'm there.

I don't think I'm justadecoy though. Also, didn't caitlen get #1 first? :P

Oh! And #5 is Sleepers!

[identity profile] maharetr.livejournal.com 2008-02-17 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
Go you!

And she totally did, thank you and apologies. Except when I edit that, it throws the rest of the list into Interesting Things. *reedits* Clearly, I need to stick to html posting from here on in :P
