Hee! I have sometimes sat in cinemas and boggled at just how much the trailers give away. The trailer for The Island gave away what I suspect was about 2/3 of the movie in one fell swoop, and I was all "oh, seen it now, thanks!"
I am spoiler phobic - knowing what's going to happen takes away much of the joy of watching something I love. This gives away the ending of a show that hasn't aired in Australia yet.
Fair enough. You never know at the time how much any particular bit of info is likely to ruin a script. It would have made a huge difference to the experience if I'd known the twists in The Crying Game, The Sixth Sense and of course Titanic.

Like movie trailers don't do it worse all the time.
