Outages, smoke and timetables

Saw an icon a couple of days ago: "I survived the LJ outage of 05! I whined, a lot, but I survived"

In other random stuff: I've enroled in the Graduate Diploma (which is actually deeply comforting, like, here's what I'm doing for the next year) and went online to sign up for tutes today. Sign up opening has been delayed again, which is actually fine because I have a timetable clash.

Timetable clashes were a pretty normal state of affairs in the BA (god, don't I sound worldly. *snort*) lots of different unit combinations, major streams, minor streams etc etc. In the Grad Dip, however, there are no choices for anyone -- you must do the eight set units over the two semesters. Everyone in this particular course is doing the same thing and yet there's this timetable clash. ::boggles::

The smell of smoke is quite strong here (at home) which is rather disconcerting. I woke up with my eyes stinging and they still sting. Nothing like Zebra is currently going through I know, but in my cocooned little world of total control over the/my environment, it's a bit of a wake-up call.

Feedback!

I just posted said slash fic to the Alpha Gate and I was a very good girl and turned the computer off and went to my grandparents for tea. When I came home there was a lovely, lovely piece of feedback in my inbox. ::clutches feeback to her breast and dances with it::

See, I have what I have come to call an inner angst/comfort slut, so I saw the above fic as my chance to let her out of her cage and let her run around outside for a while (choking on the smoke, actually) and write what I saw was this totally self-indulgent, no-real-plot angst fic, cos then I could get back to the less obviously angst fic like the amnesia fic which has been bubbling away for literally seven months. And then I get this lovely, lovely feedback which makes me think that the angst fic has depth! Depth I tell you! So even tho my eyes are stinging from the smoke, have been all freaking day, I'm going to bed with a bighappygrin. Just thought I'd share. Sleep well, everyone :-)
