This time round, among the reports I was checking, there were two flat CD cases with coloured plastic covers, one purple, one orange. There was something seriously trying to trigger my memory about plastic with that intensity of colour, and it took me about fifteen minutes to place it.
I used to have this toy: a tiny plastic pony that lived in a house. The pony, probably about three or four cms tall, was made of coloured, translucent plastic of either orange or purple. (Think My Little Pony in miniature) The pony was set in a 'base' of sorts that had grooves. These grooves matched those set in front of the door of the little house. You put the pony in the grooves, turned it like a key which triggered a mechanism that dropped one wall of the house open. The wall had an outside scene printed on one side, and indoor scene printed on the other. There was a table, and similar grooves (circular ones?) so you could stand the pony next to the table. The whole thing, set on green plastic base of 'grass' was probably the size of an A5 piece of paper. Does this ring any bells with anyone? It was somewhat startling to remember it so abruptly after having forgotten about it for so long.
