Oh, my god. Linda and Spike are the cutest, most antagonistic non-couple ever. Even after reading The gift of fear, these two weren't setting off any of my 'Jesus, get away from her, you creep' reactions when so many things (Kiki's delivery service, for example) were, and I've realised it's possibly because they're written as being on equal footing snark and repartee-wise and it makes all the difference.
