All day, I've been getting assaulted by baby bunnies, "I shall call them mini-bunnies". These little tiny sentences or ideas that fit perfectly in these fics I've had slowly bubbling in my head, most of which aren't on paper/screen yet. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that I spent Sunday afternoon with very funny and/or writerly people like [livejournal.com profile] cricketk, [livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow and [livejournal.com profile] scotsnow.

It's a wonderful, fabulous thing except for the bit where it's been happening in totally inconvenient places. Like, mid-lap at the pool, making me flounder and choke and all the walkers in the next lane look concerned. Then me mouthing to myself all through the rest of my laps, in the shower and getting dry until I can finally get to the car and my notebook. Or mid class which isn't so bad at all, it just feels really weird scribbling short hand slash in the margins of my recordkeeping notes.

Bunnies, I love you, I do, so much. But please, attack when I have the time to stroke you and pet you and shower you with the proper worship you deserve? Really, I just want the world stopped on its axis, just for me. Is that too much to ask?

*giggle*

I'm reminded of Leonard da Quirm of Terry Pratchett fame who knew the shame of waking up in the middle of the night and finding the bedsheets covered in diagrams..

Perhaps you need a foil hat to deflect particles of inspiration.

Well, something more like a deflector, funnel and containment device.

I'll draw you a picture.

LOL - I used to think that any lecture on a subject that ended in *ology was a perfect time to scribble story ideas. End of semester exams required a day of weeding through all of my lecture pads and tearing out the story notes.

Oh, a containment device is so totally what I need. Something that stores said bunny in exactly the form first thought of, which eliminates that nagging feeling as you scribble that there was something more to it that you can't quite remember...
