Chibnall, I am never forgiving you for murdering Grace so that male characters get to bond over feelings. Seriously, fuck you.

With that eternal sentence out of the way, I really liked the second episode. That was some well-sketched characters, and the Doctor was everything I could have hoped for and more: reassuring in the face of likely fatal-death; excited about a planet’s weirdness; fiercely anti-weapons; just as fiercely pro-working together and saving everyone; keenly motivated to get her TARDIS back; having vulnerable feelings at and talking to said TARDIS <3 <3.

My crush on Angstrom was immediate and immense, and then we got the queer widow reveal and then she lives triumphant. I would like ALL THE FIC please and thank you. She’s clearly still got queer and/or queer-friendly family surviving in hiding out there and I would very much like to meet them and watch her shower them with safety and love.

I don’t feel like I've watched enough Dr Who to have opinions on how ludicrous or not each monster/set up on the week is. (They all strike me as ludicrous, I just kind of roll with it), but this one seemed especially flimsy – the Terrible Dangerous microbes in the water didn't lead to anything, and there were clearly the lifeforms of grass and shrubs all over that landscape. Also people probably shouldn't have been able to walk on wet sand, no? We'll say shoes are adequate protection against flesh-eating microbes, and that no one worried about falling over.

I liked the fabric monsters, though.

I love the new TARDIS colour, and the wood look. I'm very pleased that she's pleased, but I don't feel like I've seen enough of the interior of the new design to have an opinion. I really want to like it, but that was some dark set they've got going there, and it sort of let down the reveal for me. Hoping for more details next ep.
