Have had my first day of prac; have been introduced to about 100 people, promptly forgot 100 names and am busy re-learning the significant ones. Food at UWA seems somewhat more expensive than at Curtin, and I totally forgot about the whole "food venues closing early in non-semester times" so missed out on afternoon tea by about 10 minutes. Excuse me while I go perform acts of cannibalism.

I'm seriously considering baking a cake or something, setting booby traps to guard its position in the fridge and taking slabs of it to prac each day. [livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow? If you see this, would you be willing to give up the secret of your banana cake? *salivates*

ETA: In the second hand bookshop, there was a copy of the Bourne Ultimatum for $5. I'm assuming this is the third in the trilogy/series/thing. Anyone have the first two for me to borrow? $5 for 800 pages is just a little too tempting, and hey, the movies were pretty damn fine...

So it was good? You're happy? You didn't eat any of the students?

I have an upside down pineapple cake recipe around somewhere if you wants it.

Bourne

Hmm. I could lend you the first one in about a month....

I can see all three from where I'm sitting (in someone elses house in Cheltenham), but that doesn't really help you. :)

Re: Bourne

Hee! Kinda like the ... something law... (looses at geek-fu) "I know exactly where it is, I just can't get there!"

I'm pretty sure I've got at least one of them in my bookshelf as well, if you're going past HoBaD. :)

Yay! Much thanks. Shall brazenly steal from your bookshelf next time I'm in the area. Also, I hear you are fleeing Sydney. Did the job not agree with you? :)

Yup, am fleeing Sydney. Job, Sydney and boss all did not agree with me. :)

Are you reading these because of the films or because you like that style of story?

If the latter, I need to loan you Shibumi by Trevanian which is that style of book rasied to high art, while at the same time being thoroughly tongue-in-cheeck (if that makes any sense). Just brilliant and one of my most beloved books:

The appeal is in the films, but I'll find out about the writing soon enough. ;) thanks for the rec.

Of course. It's the Women's Weekly one. I'll try to remember to type it up in the next few days.
