The post below felt like it deserved its own space. Now on to more mundane things, like me! I returned safe and sound from Melbourne, although I've had to go straight from there to Xmas with family and a birthday celebration, so it's been a bit full on. Mum, Dad and I are doing Xmas day with Dad's parents and his sister's family then we're going down south to Margaret River either on Boxing Day or the day after. Main point of interest (for me, of course) is that I'm typing this on my laptop -- I figured out how to connect the laptop to the net all by myself (using household connection: I'm on the floor cos the cord won't reach high enough for me to sit on a chair!). ::is proud::

I bought the Soumersault soundtrack CD today. It's technically Mum's CD, she was there when I bought it, knows exactly what it is etc... I've already comandeered it and recorded it to the laptop and it's so beautiful. The movie is not actually something I want to see again, but the music, oh, the music!

Also, it's very important that everyone goes and looks up Quercus. She was a Stargate writer, Sentinel (which is Jim/Blair, yes?) writer, had one other fandom that I can't remember. Also went under the name Lemon Drop. Someone feverently recced her on the Alpha Gate. Apparently she doesn't write anymore, which is an utter tragedy going by the single fic I just read. She's written a stack of very long fics (long in Stargate, anyway wich is the only fandom of hers I checked). Now that I've got the laptop I can read fic when I got to Margaret River which is fabulous. Now that I have access to the net via the laptop, I just did a massive download of all her Stargate stuff. She's totally worth the search, even though I don't have the time/energy to go find an easy link for her atm. She's archived in Slash City. Go look!

Plus: Merry Christmas! Hope it's fabulous for everyone. :)

Her website is here.

Her Sentinel stuff is really good. She may not be writing any more but she's definitely still involved enough in fandom that she answers feedback!

Thanks for doing the leg work :), I appreciate it. Great to hear she's taking fb, now all I need to do is get my courage up!
