A question to the Americans on my flist: Do you guys have these? What do you call them?

Used for carrying fuel or other liquids, usually in the backs of vehicles? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I usually see them shaped a bit different, but they're called gas cans, IMO.

Many thanks, and icon-hee!

Also, while I'm here: we Australians put petrol in our cars. You guys put gas, which is short for gasoline, yes? Are there any other synonyms?

We pretty much just call it gas. Somebody might say that they're going to go "gas up" their car. Which you do at a gas station. :) The only other thing I can think of would just be the generic of "fuel."

Much thanks.

Also: Australians say 'petrol', you guys say 'gas', short for gasoline, yes? Are there any other synonyms?

*picks both yours and [livejournal.com profile] embroiderama's brains*
