Okay, I've been given this image as inspiration for the [livejournal.com profile] picfor1000 challenge.

I'm researching the drugs and their uses, but what are the yellow boxes themselves? And is there any actual situation that would call for using all of these?

Many thanks in advance

It's the top drawer of a crash cart. They're all drugs you'd use in a full-on resuscitation. The yellow boxes: you're looking at the blunt end of a longish box, that would contain a ready-made-up syringe of what's on the label, so you can just give the drug without having to fiddle about with opening ampules and drawing up the drugs.

I wish crash-carts in this country looked like that! We have way more glass ampules and fiddling about to be done, and none of that beautiful clear labeling. I'm guessing this shot is from the US, as we call lidocaine lignocaine, and I'm pretty sure the British are with us.

Excellent information -- thank you! So each yellow box contains a single prepared syringe? Rip through the label, open the box and you're good to go.

The spelling on the packets threw me a bit: lidocaine does appear to be American, which was fine, but apparently the internet spells sulphate 'sulfate'... And, yeah, I suspect this is one of those 'for the cameras' carts *grins*

I am just saying, but the adrenaline injections would be used for anaphylaxis, the allergic thing that I do sometimes.

(What, that could be a fic.)

ps, i miss you

It totally could be a fic! And when I looked up adrenaline and found EpiPen and thought of you, too *squishes in a 'giving you all my body heat, because Firefox thinks it's 31 DEGREES at NINE PM. I think it lies, but hell, it still feels that hot. Um pretend I closed that quote at a point that made sense, please*

ps I miss you too, so much. I am hot and cranky and sulky. And I love you in here somewhere with all the whining.
