Now that Stargate has been replaced by tennis ::pout:: I'm been very regularly forgetting to tape Jeremiah. On the other hand, I've thankfully been remembering to record Buffy. From last week's ep: "The Puppet Show":

Principal Snyder: Kids today need discipline. That's an unpopular word these
days, 'discipline'. I know Principal Flutie would have said, 'Kids need
understanding. Kids are human beings.' That's the kind of woolly-headed,
liberal thinking that leads to being eaten.

That is the moment I totally and utterly fell in love with this show. I recorded about 10 minutes either side of Buffy so caught the first part of the X-Files. Scully's dad? I was seriously startled and delighted (briefly, cos of you know, the dying thing) to see it was Hammond/Don S. Davis.

Also just managed to watch Fire and Water for the first time. I know everyone drools over wet&bedraggled Daniel, but wet and bedraggled Sam? Wow. Is it just me or does Sam in general look really good in season 1? I tuned in season 6, meaning I got the Fluffy Hair look as a first proper intro to Sam. It was scary!

Mmm, wet&bedraggled!Daniel....mmmmm.....

Sorry. I think I missed your point. *g*

The best part of Snyder's line is that his approach also leads to being eaten. God I love Buffy.

I can regale you with wet&bedraggled Daniel on gathering night -- regretably only via the DVD player, but we do what we can with what we have, yes?

Buffy... it is such a brilliant show. I love it so much I own the entire series. I've just fallen in love with Angel (the spin-off from Buffy) and I'm on my way to aquiring those DVD's too.

I agree with Season 1 Sam vs Season 6 Sam. They must have had a bad hairdresser that year, there was some really bad hair. It even went into Season 7. Daniel's hair in Homecoming... *shudders*

What I really miss are the Jack, Teal'c and Sam that were so devastated when they thought Daniel was dead in F&W. Nowadays, you'll barely get an "Again?" reaction out of them.

Wet Daniel. Mmm... warm, fluffy towels on standby! :)

Re them being devastated I thought the scene in F&W with Jack and Hammond in the de-brief was particuarly good. Writing and acting wise:

[Jack's broken off, mid-sentence, pressed his hands to his eyes]
H: [something along the lines of] we can do this tomorrow, Colonel?
J: Thankyou sir.
H: I'm so sorry, Colonel. If there's anything--
J: [quickly] yessir. [gets up and walks out, fast.]

Yup, me likes.

Me too. The writing now tries to avoid any emotional repercussions (because we wouldn't want to see men caring for each other, right?), but sometimes the actors can still get it across.

Sam's hot - except when she's a mirror-Sam, has long hair and is helplessly girly. That's not hot.

I was startled at how *bad* Sam looked with long hair. Actually, in the ep with Sam on the ranch with Pete halucination it wasn't quite so horrible, but her hair in "There but for the grace of god". My god, ew!
