Okay, this is a rough draft of 'things wot cost money and why' during the (continuing) renovations of my room.

Room dimensions: Floor (and therefore ceiling) a little under 16 square metres. Walls all up not counting door and window: a little under 42 square metres.

Floor:
Floor sander was $88 for 24 hours hire from Kennards(?) We had an edge sander thanks to my parentals.
Floor varnish (water based satin) ~$30 a litre. (used about a litre and a half)

Ceiling:
one coat of Dulux white Once-only ceiling paint. Price forgotten, but we used not-quite 1 two litre tin.

Walls:
two coats of Taubmans white semi gloss. 2 four litre tins @ $51 each. (used most of it)
one coat of Taubmans saffron yellow semi gloss. 1 four litre tin @ $51

Trim (skirting boards, window etc)
Currently have 1 litre of Dulux vivid white, semi-gloss Aquanamel. Price forgotten [ETA: $34.57], and we'll see how much that covers.

Does that make sense, [livejournal.com profile] black_samvara? Have I missed anything? <3

All four walls are a very pale yellow. We very carefully painted one wall with said yellow to see how strong it was, and realised it was probably going to be enough with one coat, and that it was inoffensive enough to have a room's worth *grins*
