Via Making Light. A 15 minute TED (think: lexicographer!) talk about free time, TV, the internet, participation and community. And a lot of me going, "oh, hell yes" and being transfixed. Critical thought later, maybe.

For the first time, society forced onto an enormous number of its citizens the requirement to manage something they had never had to manage before--free time...

Yes, very true! I'm sure I "waste" far, far more time now that I ever did growing up when there was no internet.
