Yarn from America! Merino yarn from Sockpixie to be more precise.

There's so much of it! The pen is in there for scale. It weighs in at around 120 grams, and I've spent the best part of two hours gently winding it into balls I can use on public transport. I'm still not quite done!

Oh, yarnomat! A friend prodded me in that direction, and now that I've had it confirmed that, like, you click buttons and then yarn appears! on your doorstep! I think I'm going to have to look with much more seriousness.

That is a lovely lovely skein of wool! Looks like a gorgeous colour. I undid a skein of wool myself last night (it was all twisted up), but crocheted it into a scarf, since I needed one, and I only had the one skein of remnant (I got it in a little bargain basket in a wool shop in Halifax, Nova Scotia a bazillion months ago, and have never done anything with it). It's lovely though. I'd forgotten how lovely a skein can be.

How exciting!!!!! How many socks will you get out of it, just the one pair?

This is my first skein ever, and I'm stupidly pleased :)

And yup, the website says 'one average adult pair' which for me and my tiny feet probably means at least three socks... :P
