Typing this on friend's Mac computer, which has the little braille notches on the Wrong Damn Keys (ie k and d, instead of f and j, which feels ever so weird). Anyway, survived the flight just fine. Had to get up at 4.30, but didn't sleep a wink before that, so am rather sleep deprived. In my insomnia haze I'd scribbled notes for the amnesia slash fic, not terribly graphic things, but obviously Two Men "Together!" In the rush to get ready, I stuffed the page into my hand luggage (the purple shoulder bag). It was so full of stuff anyway that I couldn't properly secure the flap that holds the bag closed. At the airport I put the bag thru the scanner, but there's a slope on the other wide for the bag to come down, and stuff was spilling out of the bag. I, terrified of missing my flight, grab everything in a rush, quite sure I picked up the bit of paper. Yup, I get off the flight in Melbourne and do a bag rummage when I have quiet moment. Paper is Gone. God knows what the poor sod who picked it up thought!!

My friend (N) lives on a pretty busy street in Melb, above a restaurant (she works downstairs, and her mum and I and probably a few other friends will be going down there for tea, which should be great). Melbourne, or at least the length of the street I've seen looks a little dingy, but there are a hell of a lot of interesting looking shops along the way. Not all comfortable walking distance, but trams that stop in the middle of the street are far too scary atm and I'll need something to do while N is at work for two days straight. I did spot a net cafe and at least two potential laptop sellers (apparently they're called notebooks now, but damnit, a notebook is a physical thing, with paper!). Things are good! :-D
