The computer at N's is unbelievably slow (up to date modem, really old software) and I don't really feel like I can sit back and read a long fic or anything because it chews up time etc. So, net cafes are good. By sheer luck, I managed to finally find a CD I've been pining for for ages. I was only going by the memory of two of the songs, but saw the cover and it triggered a strong enough memory for me to go "uh, could I listen to this?" and it was the right one! Now, of course, I can't remember the artist, album name is Exile, by a guy from Uganda. Very very pretty stuff. Utter ecstasy to listen to :).
In less cheerful news, I'm coming down with a damn cold. I was trying to fool myself yesterday that all the sneezing was hay fever (except there's no nature around here to interact with) or living above a really busy street or something. I can't really argue with sneezing and the copious amounts of snot that I'm now producing.
The laptop options (ie vendors of) are dwindling. The cheap computer shop in Collingwood only does desktops, but there's a last shop further down the street that I'll try after posting this. Officeworks does a brand-new 'notebook' for $1300. It's the best option I've seen so far, but admittedly haven't looked all that hard yet. Things would be good, but the cold is starting to drag me down. ::hawk, spit:: blech!
