Actually the day itself was long and tiring. To get to Continuum in a non-rushed timeframe I've started my prac (aka work experience) a week early which means I'm starting on my birthday. I've got a two day induction, which means I'm following people around while they do and (with varying degrees of success) explain their roles. The actual work I'll be doing for the other thirteen days is sort of interesting but very repetitive and staring at screens all day, which will be draining.
I finished my timetable for day one's induction early, so got to go home an hour early. I've ordered The Value of X and Liquor on inter-library loan, (they're simply not available in Australian bookshops or second hand bookshops: cheaper to read them and then buy them from the dealer's table, I figure, than order them from the US for $50 each.) and cackled with the library staff over various things, which helped the mood considerably.
Then I get home to a shiny Astro Boy shirt from darling, darling G; an engraved pen from my grandparents and my eBay item, finally arrived. Tired mood fixed! :)
Also: Saturday night. My party! My fingers would hate me if I tried to list the lot of you *hugs flist* For those of you not there, I hug you too, and say there was much slashy-ness, smuttiness and ficciness (it's a word cos I say so); there was banana cake with teh best icing ever and apple/berry crumble; there was Jeremiah books and hilarious cards; there was femslash haiku (squee!) and hot boy-sex; there was much hawt talk and D&Ms; there was dishes doing (and impressed parents! *G*) and there was cuddles and Baileys-laced hot drinks *slurp*. Have I missed anything? *loves*
(ETA: Unfortunately, nothing won from Sushi's lotto tickets *pout*)
