My brain is a weird, weird place

I have a plot bunny that I'm slowly coaxing out from under the couch. In other words, I have a couple of scenes in approximate sequential order. As I write out each scene they expand and sometimes wander off on tangents, as scene are wont to do. I'm mulling over how to tug scene B off its tangent to line back up with scene C, when I have a light-bulb moment, the thought of which transcribes as: "I could give him a panic attack -- that would calm things down."
