A night and a day in the life...

Last night was so totally what I needed: cricketk, special_trille and sarren, there was yummy leek&potato soup with heavenly bread, there was Battlestar Galactica and oh! the pain and the squee!


[They're preparing to mercy-kill one of the Kobol crew. There's talk of overdosing him with morphine]

Audience: But other people might need that! Just shoot him, you fools!
Tyrol: [injecting guy with morphine] Hey, buddy. Rescue crew's here, you're going home.
Me: [not caring about the waste of morphine anymore] sniffle. Gahh...

And there was the lovely scene between Dee and Billy. He, clearly not knowing his way around guns, tries to carry it in his trousers.
Dee: Uh, you might want to put the safety on. *loves*



There were also songvids and Atlantis pretties. Speaking of songvids, I've been Googling the Dr Who vid with absolutely no success, cricketk? Help? :)

Awoke this morning to find a VHS copy of Black Books Season 1. Much happiness ensued. After observing wobowikkles perform obscene acts with pears, cinamon, sugar and a bit of hot water I attempted a similar feat and ended up with some pretty reasonable stewed pears for brunch and Black Books to watch. Life is good :)

la la la. So, I was ordering things online for pickup tomorrow, and then I realised that BestBuy seems to have the USB TV card that I need to be able to capture BSG to my computer, and it's only $50 instead of the $80 or $90 that I was looking at elsewhere.

How important do you think it is that I have any money left after tomorrow?

...Well, I've been ill, and I live with my parents. I'm trying to save up to move, but it's unlikely that I'm going to have the money for that in the next week or two, and even more unlikely that $100 would be what ultimately pushes me in either direction.

So I think that from a survivalist standpoint, i'm okay. (And I suppose that I should point out that 'no money' at this point would actually translate to 'about $65', as I've just remembered that I've got $50 cash in my purse from before I got sick.)

Actually, I've only seen about two espidoes of MASH, ever. My family are all very involved in the military - three of my grandparents were in it, my dad was in it, several of my uncles were in it for at least a short while - and it's something that I'm very uncomfortable with. So I tend to avoid almost all military-related shows, and have ever since I was young.

Just as well for you, really. I suppose that I shouldn't be so negative about it all, but... Meh.

My family, though, are very much -- well, they're sort of the stereotypical Americans in a lot of ways, and I suppose that I blame the military for a lot of the things that cause problems for us. (Not that anyone's still in the military, but just that it sort of instilled some unhealthy beliefs, imo.)

I think yes - I can't remember where I got it - Was probably on YSI via the Time and Chips LJ community.

I do have it on CD. Next time I see you, I'll loan it.
