That was an unbelievably tense, claustrophobic, brilliant episode -- but for fuck's sake, can't we live? Just once, can't the gay character live?

You might want to put that under a cut (just a suggestion don't hate me)

I totally agree with your point, in ANY other fandon - except in Dr Who, gay characters are actually so common that it'd be hard NOT to kill one off occasionally.

When Dragonfly and I watched it and it was revealed she was gay, Dragonfly was like 'oh wow' and I said, 'you're kidding - I would have bet money on it.

*loves on RTD like whoa*

Oh noes! Too late for the spoiler cut! I am spoiled!

Like movie trailers don't do it worse all the time.

Hee! I have sometimes sat in cinemas and boggled at just how much the trailers give away. The trailer for The Island gave away what I suspect was about 2/3 of the movie in one fell swoop, and I was all "oh, seen it now, thanks!"

I don't have a sense of humour about this.

I am spoiler phobic - knowing what's going to happen takes away much of the joy of watching something I love. This gives away the ending of a show that hasn't aired in Australia yet.

Fair enough. You never know at the time how much any particular bit of info is likely to ruin a script. It would have made a huge difference to the experience if I'd known the twists in The Crying Game, The Sixth Sense and of course Titanic.

I really liked the fact that she was a 'Mrs', implying to me that she was a divorcing gay woman. And point taken about the cut :)

I know, it was awesome.

And thank you for not being cranky.
